Nashville: Pancake Pantry

Nashville, Tennessee

After an exceptional weekend in Nashville, we made it to Pancake Pantry bright and early (around 6:15 AM). Most of the places we visited this weekend are common places for people to visit out of town, so skip the line outside and go early! There is a private parking lot in the back but if you're there on the weekend, it's free!

They have a lot of fruit and pancake combinations however I saw one called Pigs in a Blanket.

Pigs in a blanket | Three sausage links rolled inside a buttermilk pancake. One serving comes with three pancakes.

The pancakes here don't have a meal option that I've seen at other places (i.e. side of meat or starches) so it's just the pancake. Additionally, I love thick fluffy pancakes but the batter they have here is a lot thinner. While Pigs in a Blanket is a great concept, execution just wasn't there for me. I wish I had tried one of the other fruit-pancake combinations. The cinnamon-cream they bring out to your table, inside a maple jug, is amazing poured on just about anything. They also offered maple syrup as well. If there's one thing that saved the pancakes, it was their cinnamon cream so make sure if you don't' see it, ask for it! Some other pancake dishes you can ask for are sugar and spice pancakes, raspberry delight and Georgia peach pancakes.
